Kelhy Green sat eating her dinner ravenously. She'd just got out of a grueling Quidditch practice and she was starving. She laughed as one of her friends told a particularly funny joke. Kelhy was, as usual, surrounded by friends. She was quite popular, especially around the girls because she proved the point that you could be girly, popular AND strong.
She felt a soft tap on her shoulder and looked up at Allison McLaggen. Allison was her partner for a project they were doing together in Charms. "Kelhy, when is a good time you to come and work on the project?" Allison asked softly. Kelhy knew that she was shy around the other girls, so she gave Allison a welcoming smile and said, "Just let me finish my dinner and I'll come meet you in the Common Room, ok?" Allison nodded and gave a small smile, "Ok,"she half whispered. She turned and gracefully swept out of the Hall.
"What was that about?"a girl rudely asked. "It's not as if you're close to her, is it? She's kind of a nobody isn't she?" Kelhy glared at the girl and said, "Allison is very nice. She and I are working together on a Charms project. She's just very shy." The girl looked away, her face burning. Kelhy calmly pushed a forkful of food into her mouth. Flipping one of her blond braids over her shoulder, she sighed and took a sip of pumpkin juice.
Kelhy lingered at the table for about 15 minutes longer and finally shoved herself up and said, "I'd best be getting to the Common Room so that Allison doesn't think I'm ditching her. See you later, guys!" The group called goodbyes as she rose and walked out of the Great Hall. On her way out, she stuck her tongue out at O.J. Wood. He glared at her and held up three fingers mouthing "Read between the lines." She laughed and continued out. There was something about messing with him that made her laugh.
She began her decent to the dungeons and smiled and waved at a couple of people who passed by and greeted her. Kelhy smiled to herself; she knew she was going to have a nice evening.
